Level 2 Activity First Aid

Level 2 Activity First Aid 16 hours/ 3 days £1300 for up to 12 learners £200

This course is designed for activity leaders who require a first aid qualification geared towards outward bounds or sports related activities.  There are no pre-requisites for the course, which covers:

  1. Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
  2. Assess an incident.
  3. Manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
  4. Manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.
  5. Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking.
  6. Manage a casualty with external bleeding.
  7. Manage a casualty who is in shock.
  8. Manage a casualty with a minor injury.

Unit 2:

  1. Administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints.
  2. Recognise and manage common types of:
  • Fractures
  • Dislocations
  • Sprains
  • Strains
  1. Administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head, neck and back injuries.
  2.  Administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest and abdominal injuries.
  3. Administer first aid to a casualty with thermal injuries.
  4. Administer first aid to a casualty with eye injuries.
  5. Administer first aid to a casualty with sudden
  6. Administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylactic shock.
  7. Recognise and manage the signs and symptoms of major illnesses including:
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke
  • Epilepsy
  • Diabetes
  • Asthma
  1. Provide first aid to a casualty who is experiencing the effects of extreme heat and cold
